A new government green homes grant has been unveiled that can pay up to \u00a35000 towards energy-saving home improvement measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Green Homes Grant is a voucher that can cover up to two-thirds of the cost of improving the energy efficiency of your home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes insulation measures, double glazing, solar thermal and draught-proofing. Among other measures undertaken by qualifying home improvement companies according to the campaign\u2019s website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bigger grant is available to homeowners who receive some form of benefit. Including income support, universal credit or jobseeker\u2019s allowance. Which will fund the full cost up to \u00a310,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government has made 600,000 grants available for the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am I Eligible for Green Homes Grant?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As long as you are a homeowner or landlord that owns the house and it is not a new build. You can claim under the Green Homes Grant. For up to two-thirds of the cost of the qualifying energy upgrades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full cost grants are also available for people who own their home. But are claiming some form of benefit according to the government\u2019s eligibility questionnaire<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes income support benefits (including Jobseeker\u2019s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit), Pension Guarantee Credit, a range of tax credits and disability living allowances as well as housing benefit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Work Qualifies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The funding has to be used for at least one primary measure, and no secondary measure can cost more than the primary measure, according to the full list of allowed measures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
